Weekend Coffee Share

Ten Things of Thankful

And

Join us for some coffee time!

If we were having coffee today, I would be telling you about my crazy week.  The weather has been beautiful.  Summer has arrived!  My potted plants on my front porch have recovered from the shock of being re-potted and are blooming like crazy.  I really enjoy flowers, but hate gardening.  So plants in pots it is.

How was your week?  Want another cup of coffee?

In my quilt guild, I am participating in a round robin exchange.  A round robin is when each person in the group makes a center piece.  Usually a square of any size set by the rules of the exchange.  Then, every two months it is passed to the next person on the list.  You always pass to the same person.  Each person adds a row around the block thereby increasing the size of the quilt top.  So, on Sunday I realized that I had had this round for two months and had not done it yet.  Tuesday was guild day.  I began to panic.

I pulled the bag with the quilt top out and just stared at it.  I had no idea what I was going to do.  I left it on the table and throughout the evening I kept walking over to look at it.  Finally, on Monday morning I found my inspiration.  I began cutting fabric and building my row.  At 10:30 that night I had to stop.  I only had two seems to sew, but I was afraid that I would make a mistake if I tried to finish it then.

So, Tuesday morning I was up at 7:00.  Jumped into the shower, got dressed.  Made coffee.  Finished the round.  It looked pretty good.  I was pleased.  Then was out of the house by 9:30 for my guild meeting.  I pulled into the parking lot at 9:50 and it was completely empty.  I then realized that it was the first Tuesday of June and my meeting is the second Tuesday of the month.

I was actually supposed to be at my sit and stitch group.  It was too far for me to go as I had a pre-op appointment in an hour away.  I decided to stop for an iced coffee at McDonald’s.  When I went to pay, I saw that I had left my credit cards home.  So, I had to stop home and grab my card wallet.

I made it to the appointment in time.  I was actually a little bit early.  I didn’t realize how early until the receptionist told me my appointment was on Wednesday.  I couldn’t believe it.  She was so kind, she told me she would work me in since I lived so far away.  What an angel.  I had seen one doctor that if you were not at your appointment fifteen minutes early, he refused to see you.  So I know how temperamental physicians can be.  Not only did they fit me in, I didn’t wait ten minutes to be seen.

It was at this point I was beginning to wonder if I was losing it.  I wound up disorganized the entire week.  I couldn’t keep my days straight and still haven’t made it to the grocery store.  I am thankful that I had food in the freezer.

Letting Gracie out before bedtime has become very entertaining.  When I open my front door, tree frogs and toad scatter over the patio and up on the wall.  Gracie just sniffs at them and walks away.  If I am quiet and stand still, I can see the little frogs catch the bugs flying about.  It makes me smile to see those little frogs.

I am so glad you stopped by for coffee.  I hope you have a good weekend.  I have plans to watch the NASCAR race in Michigan tomorrow.
